Nocturne I 30 x 30

The majestic Mount Assiniboine takes centre stage in 'Nocturne I'. It's unmistakable and near-perfect silhouette is set against a dazzling nightscape of deep purple and blue. The Milky Way streaks across the sky adding a celestial glow to the image.
The piece is directly inspired by a trip to the area many moons ago where I camped at Lake Magog and looked up at the mountain, deeply struck by it's presence and beauty. Created with my signature mix of intricate wood burning and bold acrylic gouache, this piece serves to remind us of the sudden, breathtaking wonder of a starlit sky.
